The Lapins cherry is a backyard grower's dream — large, dark red, firm, and bursting with rich sweet flavour. It's self-fertile, meaning one tree will produce a solid crop on its own. But if you have the space, adding a second cherry variety nearby will significantly increase your yield — more blossoms cross-pollinated means more fruit on every branch.
Self-fertile — one tree will produce on its own. For a significantly larger harvest, plant alongside another sweet cherry variety. Great options from our collection include Stella, Bing, and Van — all available at Catkins Nursery. More pollinators = more bounty!
Prefers full sun. Water regularly in the first season. Ripens in mid to late July. Hardiness Zone: 3–5 — well suited to Ontario growing conditions.
